Pages 1-3 are taken up with a report headed: "Navy of the United States" which seems to be a state-of-the-navy report signed in type:. W. Jones (Secretary of the Navy), reporting on new ships being built, the number of seamen,, and other naval reports (see for portions). This is followed by more than a full page of 3 charts: "List of the Naval Force of the United States" "United States' Naval Force on the Lakes" and "Gunboats, Barges, etc."
"Events of the War" report the latest from the War of 1812 and includes a letter from the President to Congress, signed in type: James Madison. Also several letters reporting on the war including one from William Henry Harrison, another datelined from Detroit, etc.
Following all these are a wealth of "Public Documents" relating to the war including many letters from John Armstrong & James Wilkinson. Included is a chart of killed & wounded Americans under General James Wilkinson at the action at Williamsburg, Upper Canada.
Sixteen pages, 6 1/4 by 9 3/4 inches, great condition.

This small size newspaper began in 1811 and was a prime source for national political news of the first half of the 19th century. As noted in Wikipedia, this title: "...(was) one of the most widely-circulated magazines in the United States...Devoted primarily to politics...considered an important source for the history of the period."
