THE NEW YORK HERALD, April 26, 1865

* Abraham Lincoln's funeral procession
* New York City - Black mourning borders

A very nice newspaper, as the entire front page reports the funeral procession of Abraham Lincoln in New York City. Great to have in a New York newspaper.
Nearly three-quarters of the first column on page one is taken up with related headlines, including: "OUR TRIBUTE" "Obsequies To Abraham Lincoln" "Scenes In City Hall" "The Procession" "One of the Most Imposing Displays the World Ever Saw" "The Dead March" "The Funeral Car" "The Multitude Uncover as It Passes Along the Route" and much more (see). The very extensive reporting carries to the inside and back pages.
All columns are black bordered with "mourning rules" in memory of Lincoln. Eight pages, very nice condition.
