NEW YORK TIMES, Nov. 22, 1871 

* Creation of the NRA, the National Rifle Association

The back page has a brief & inconspicuous report which is very significant to the founding of the NRA, the National Rifle Association. As the hyperlink notes, the NRA was founded in 1871 by Capt. Wingate and Col. Church, both mentioned in this report. Papers for incorporation were sent 5 days previous on Nov. 17, and this report notes: "The Rifle Association met last evening in the armory...Capt. Wingate presented to the meeting certified copies of the papers of incorporation. On behalf of the Committee on By-laws, Col. Church reported a complete set, which were adopted. the Association then adjourned." And so the NRA was formally created.
Also, the front page has: "The Mormon Trials" "Brigham Young's Case Called--His Counsel Says He Has Gone South for His Health--Other Cases".
Complete in 8 pages, nice condition.
