NEW YORK SEMI-WEEKLY TRIBUNE, Feb. 28, 1862
* Confederate president Jefferson Davis
* Inauguration - inaugural address
There is a wealth of Civil War reporting on the front page including heads such as "The Burnside Expedition" "Condition of the Rebel Guns" "A Visit to Nag's Head" "The War in the South-West" "Nashville Surrendered" "In Occupation by Union Troops" "The Rebels at Murfreesboro" "Capture of Fayetteville, Ark." But the prime content would be found on page 6 with: "Inaugural Address of Jeff. Davis" (see for portions) which is followed by: "Another Fast Day--Proclamation by the President" which is signed in type: Jefferson Davis. Also on pg. 6 is: "What Shall be Done with the Slaves".
Also, on page 2 is a war-related map headed: "Rebel Fortifications In Florida" plus heads: "The Rebels in Florida" "Description of the Fortifications" and more.
