THE DAILY ADVERTISER, New York, June 15, 1789

* Samuel Fraunces - Tavern fame
* George Washington's head steward

Among the ads on page 3 is: "Samuel Fraunces" the famed owner of Fraunces Tavern in New York City, where General Washington bid farewell to his officers at the end of the Revolutionary War (see the hyperlinks for more on him & his tavern). This ad announces he is transferring operation of his tavern to his wife. He will soon take on a new position as the head steward of the President's house in New York.
Page 2 has an interesting & lengthy letter concerning titles to be used by politicians in the new republican government, as opposed to those used in Europe (see).
Four pages, very nice condition.
