THE LONDON GAZETTE, England, Feb. 24, 1667  A very early issue of the world's oldest continually published newspaper which began just 2 years previous in 1665. Page 2 has a brief item concerning the Great Plague in a report from Vienna noting: "...endeavouring to interest the Grand Seignior in his quarrel, to whom he has dispatched an Ambassadour with 40 persons in his train, to attend him at Adrianople, where he is at present obliged to reside by reason of the Plague, which rages with much violence in several parts of his dominions." Complete as a single sheet newspaper, 6 1/2 by 10 3/4 inches, bit of light dirtiness to the front page, nearly close-trimmed at the upper right margin but not shaving any letters, very nice condition.
