A nice newspaper from the capital of the Confederacy. Reports include: "Interesting From Norfolk--Treachery of a Confederate Officer--The Gunboat Panic" "The Peninsula--The Battle of Williamsburg" "The Enemy Occupying New Orleans" "Movements & Spirit of the War" "The Late Combats Near Williamsburg" and more.
But the most notable content is the lengthy back page report headed: "The Battle Of Shiloh" "General Beauregard's Official Report" which takes nearly 2 1/2 columns and is signed in type: G. T. Beauregard. Great to have this account in a newspaper from the capital of the Confederacy.
Complete as a single sheet newspaper, never bound nor trimmed, nice condition.
