At this point he is heading from New York City to Philadelphia, with heads including: "The Presidential Progress" "Departure of Mr. Lincoln and Party from New York" "The Receptions at Jersey City, Newark, Trenton and Philadelphia" "Immense Turnout of the Jersey Blues" "The Address of Welcome & Mr. Lincoln's Replies" "Great Excitement & Enthusiasm" " What May be Expected from Mr. Lincoln's Inaugural".
This text takes almost the entire front page, with subheads including: "The Reception at Newark" "The Trip Between Newark & Trenton" "Mr. Lincoln's Reception at Philadelphia" "The Trip Between Trenton & Phila."
