September 18, 1875

ST. LOUIS GLOBE-DEMOCRAT, Sept. 18, 1875  The top of the front page has some nice column heads: "HARD HIT" "Jesse James with a Hole in His Breast" "Bligh Identifies the Reckless Missouri Outlaw" "Winged at Last by a Kentucky Bullet". This lengthy article details the Huntington Bank Robbery committed by the James & Younger gang. Prior to the details of the robbery is a note: "Detective Blight returned from Pine Hill, Ky., and is satisfied that the man captured & wounded there several evenings ago is Jesse James, the notorious Missouri outlaw." In fact it was not Jesse James who was shot (see the hyperlink).
Twelve pages, very nice, clean condition.
