April 12, 1882

WEEKLY ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS, Denver, Colorado, April 12, 1882  The top of page 6 has some of the best column heads on the death of Jesse James we have seen, including: "JESSE'S JUDAS" "Reports of the "Bandit's Death Confirmed" "Killed in is Own House by a Treacherous Friend" "How Ford Fired Upon His Unprepared Pal" "Shooting Him with a Weapon Given by the Victim" "Denying the Deed to the Weeping Wife of James" "But Telling a Different Story to the State Authorities" plus to subheads. The text takes almost two columns with much detail.
Page 5 has more concerning the death of Jesse James with: "The Outlaw's Obsequies" 'Cold-Blooded Conduct of the Crowd of Curious Spectators" taking half a column.
Eight pages, a few very discrete archival mends to unrelated pages, very nice condition.
