November 17, 1943

EVENING PRESS, Guernsey, November 17, 1943. This four page newspaper was published on this island in the English Channel and was occupied by the Germans during almost all of WWII. During the Nazi occupation they took over this newspaper and filled it with pro-German propaganda, offering a unique insight into how the Axis reported the news during the war. The front page of this issue includes headlines which include: "Soviet Concentrations Smashed Near Smolensk"; Japanese Destroy 179 U.S.A. Aircraft"; "Exploding Pencils"; "Britain's Foreign Debts", and more.  Complete in 4 pages and in good condition.
