THE GLOCESTER JOURNAL [Gloucester], June 15, 1767 Page 2 has some news headed: "America" including a bit from Charleston noting: "Mr. Hammerer, who came over from England with intent to civilize & convert the Cherokee Indians, has met with more success than some...seemed to expect...Some of the principal Indians have given him their children to educate..." (see).
