The top of the first two columns have the notable heads: "The Nation's Sorrow Hour" "The President Dead" "The Official Announcement" "The Assassins Identified" "Mr. W. H. Seward Reviving" "Secretary Seward Just Alive" "His Son Frederick W. Dead" "Booth, the Assassin, Arrested" "Further Particulars of the Tragedy". The coverage continues on page 2 with what were the first reports as received by the newspaper: "Appalling National Calamity" "Murder In The Capital" 'President Lincoln Assassinated In A Theatre" "Secretary Seward Stabbed in his Bed" "The President Just Alive at Half-Past Two O'clock This Morning" "His Case Absolutely Hopeless" with more.
This issue also has notable Civil War reports from the closing moments, including; "The Surrender of Gen. Lee" and "The Pursuit & Surrender of Lee--Further Interesting Particulars".
All columns on all 4 pages are black-bordered. Never bound nor trimmed, some light staining to the front page, small folio size, generally very nice condition.
