February 16, 1782

EDINBURGH EVENING COURANT, Scotland, Feb. 16, 1782  Page 2 has a note that: "Upon Sir Henry Clinton's arrival a board of enquiry will sit upon his conduct. One great error laid to his charge is the not establishing posts on Hudson's River in order to command it, and cut the rebellious colonies asunder...that had New York been only a fortified post & Philadelphia made the head quarters of the army, all the southern colonies would have been conquered long ago." A short bit notes: "Yesterday General Arnold & his Lady were at Court..." (see).
Four pages, folio size, a bit irregular at the blank spine margin, some light dirtiness & foxing.
