March 28, 1846

THE FLORIDIAN, Tallahassee, Florida, March 28, 1846

* Rare antebellum title
* Mexican War

A nice & rare opportunity for a very early newspaper from the capital of Florida. Very rarely are we able to find antebellum Florida newspapers, particularly from the capital. This issue has some Mexican War content on 2 & 3 including: "Mexico--Interesting" "Highly Important Intelligence from the Army of Occupation" which includes "Order No. 30" signed in type: Z. Taylor; and: "Mexico Again". Page 3 has a small illus. ad for a: "Runaway In Jail", being a slave.
Four pages, never-trimmed margins, water stain in a lower corner, generally very nice.
