FLAKE'S DAILY BULLETIN, Galveston, Texas, July 25, 1865  The volume 1 number 34 issue since the Yankees took over the port. Galveston was the site of the last naval battle of the Civil War, as the Confederates surrendered the city on June 2. A number of the items in this issue relate to  the cleaning-up of events from the war with some Reconstruction-related items. Page 2 includes: "Our Cemetery" and "More Robberies" & other items. A pg. 2 article begins: "We are informed by good authority that the secession spirit is still rampant in Washington county...' (see).
Four pages, never bound nor trimmed, great condition.
