THE GENTLEMAN'S MAGAZINE, London, June, 1747  Two pages are taken up with a: "List of Ships Taken" which include several which were bound to or from North America and the West Indies. Also included are articles on some early electric machines including a illustration (see).
Among various articles in this issue are: "Regulation of the Window Tax" "Account of the  Battle of Kesselt" "Reasons for Dissolving the Parliament" "Transactions at Genoa" "Observations on St. Paul's Conversion" "Construction and Use of a new Hygroscope" and much more.
Near the back is the "Historical Chronicle" which has various news reports from throughout Europe. Included is "A Proclamation, for Dissolving this present Parliament & Declaring the calling of Another". Included also is a report datelined "New England" (see images).
Complete in 48 pgs. with full title/index page which contains an engraving of St. John's Gate. Small library stamps at the bottom of 2 pages do not cause loss of readability.  Measures about 5 by 8 inches, nice condition.
