November 22, 1963

LOS ANGELES TIMES - EXTRA, Nov. 22, 1963  A very intriguing newspaper not just because of the very large and bold presentation but for what I suspect was a hastily prepared headline reading: "ASSASSINATE KENNEDY", when I suspect "KENNEDY ASSASSINATED" was the intended headline. Over one-quarter of the front page is taken up with the large photo of J.F.K. (see).
Also of interest is the page 3 report headed: " 'Alcatraz Birdman' Robert Stroud Dies in His Sleep at Age of 73" which includes a photo of him. His notoriety was enhanced by the movie "Birdman of Alcatraz" starring Burt Lancaster as Stroud.
The complete first section (of 2) with pages 1-36 pages, very nice condition.
