THE LADY'S MAGAZINE, London, March, 1775  Formatted much like the more popular Gentleman's Magazine of the day, but with a focus--as noted on the title page--on: "Entertaining Companion for the Fair Sex, Appropriated Soley to Their Use and Amusement". Content includes: "General Remarks on the Best Construction of Hospitals" "The Matron" "Woman. An Essay" & much more.
Near the back is news from: "America" with a number of items relating to the coming conflict with England. An item from Boston concerns a resolution concerning raising a militia, including: "The preamble begins...a great part of the inhabitants...may soon be called forth to assist in defending the charter & constitution of the province as well as the rights and liberties of all America..." (see).
Included is the foldout sheet of music (see). Lacking are the other two plates called for. Complete in 56 pages, 5 by 8 1/4 inches, great condition.
