NEW YORK TIMES, Jan. 12, 1861  The front page includes: "The Southern Rebellion" "Latest Reports from the Belligerent States" "Everything Quiet at Charleston" "Important Movements of Government Forces--Secession of Alabama & Florida" with more. The ftpg. also has a one column map headed: "The Approach To Charleston Harbor".
Page 3 had: "The Negro Plot In Alabama--Trial & Execution of Sixteen Negroes by a Committee at Pine Level". Page 5 has a report news arriving by the Pony Express., and also: "The Canada Fugitive Slave Case", the latter being the rather famous case of John Anderson, the fugitive slave who escaped to Canada after murdering a man who attempted to capture him as a fugitive slave (see the hyperlink for much more on him). This article takes over half  a column and provides much detail (see).
Eight pages, various water staining throughout but causing no loss of readability.
