This is the last of the earliest issues of this famous title from our shelves. Smaller format with a nice engraving in the masthead (see) from the brief period between the end of the Revolutionary War & the creation of the Constitution & federal government.
Page 2 has a note that David Humphrey, Aid de Camp to General Washington, was appointed ambassador to France. Page 3 has an item concerning a person from Canada thinking it wise that it be the next state in the Union. Also mention that: "...in power to contradict the report of Dr. Franklin's being by the incurable disease--old age, disqualified for publick service, as we are assured that that celebrated philosopher still enjoys those astonishing abilities for which he has been so universally esteemed." Four pages, 8 1/4 by 10 1/4 inches, some foxing, nice condition.
