This is a very rare title from the Confederacy. According to Brigham only four institutions in the United States have any holdings of this title from the Civil War, most just a few scattered issues. The American Antiquarian Society has no issues recorded from this era.
The ftpg. includes a letter from a soldier at Camp French, with some nice details (see for portions). Also on the ftpg. are "The Palmyra Massacre" which is over a full column; and "Peace" and a few other items. Pgs. 2 & 3 have much more on the Civil War including: "Official Report of Gen. Lee" which is his account of the Battle of Fredericksburg, signed by him in type: R. E. Lee, General (see for portions). This famous battle was victorious for the Confederates. Other items include: "The News--The Fredericksburg Battle" "The Battle Near Kinston" "Worse & Worse" "Lincoln's Message" " and more. The bkpg. includes: "Burnside" "Why McClellan Didn't Follow Lee, and why Burnside has a 'Hard Road to Travel' " "The Abolition Congress" along with various ads. Complete in 4 pgs., in very nice condition.
An opportunity for not only a very rare Confederate title, but one with some fine content.
