October 30, 1760

THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, October 30, 1760  Page 2 has: "The Lord Marshal's Order for a General Mourning for his late Majesty King George the Second.' (see)  Also a report from the "London Gazette Extraordinary" headed: "A Proclamation Requiring all persons being in Office of Authority of Government at the Decease of the late King, to proceed in the Execution of their respective Offices." This was very likely the first public proclamation made by the new King George III.
Page 5 has a report beginning: "By his late Majesty's death, the Parliament of Ireland, which sits during the King's life, is dissolved & a new Parliament will be elected in that Kingdom..." with more. Page 7 has a report of the "Ceremonial of the Royal Coronation of his Majesty King George I" back in 1714. More on the back page as well.
Eight pages, 8 by 10 3/4 inches, archival mends to pg. 2 cause no loss but doe affect one of the mentioned articles, close-trimmed at the bottom of pg. 2 also affects the last line of one of the articles.
