Almost all of the front page is taken up with a huge list of appointments and promotions in the military, with heads: "Promotions In The Army" "List of Nominations Now Before the United States Senate for Appointments & Promotions in the Regular and Volunteer Armies". The list begins with a brief note announcing the President's nominations, signed in type: Abraham Lincoln. At the top of the list is "Major-Gen. Ulysses S. Grant of Volunteers, to be Major-General" and also promotions for Generals Meade, William T. Sherman, James McPherson, and George H. Thomas (see).
Eight pages, spotted foxing throughout, nice condition.
