An interesting advertising broadside for the newspaper: "The Tuolumne Independent" from Northern California, not dated but likely from the 1870's-1880's. Included is a nice print of the newspaper printing office, rarely found in period newspapers.
The text, done in broadside form (although printed on the back of what I presume was scrap newsprint from a previous issue; see) promotes its philosophy, noting in part: "Independent of Party. Clique or Faction." "No Compromise with Wrong. Praise where Praise is due--Censure where Censure is needed." and much more (see0.
A single sheet, reverse has type from a previous issue, very wide margins, measures 10 by 14 3/4 inches, an archival mend to the reverse. Very nice condition and a great display item from the Old West with a very Old West "look".
