THE ILLUSTRATED LONDON NEWS, England, March 23, 1889
* Early baseball
The prime feature of this issue is the terrific double page centerfold captioned: "The American Baseball Players at Kennington Oval--Visit of the Prince of Wales". It includes some `8 scenes of various "plays" in baseball, and in additional has round portraits of the 18 baseball players involved (see). Among the two notables are Cap Anson and "Ward". This centerfold measures 15 1/2 by 21 1/4 inches and is tipped-in so there are no binding holes. A great baseball item for display, & one of the more rare prints given the scarcity of this title.
Another page has an image of "The Eiffel Tower in Progress" of construction (see), and yet another page is taken up with 4 images captioned: "Adventures of a Pack-Outfit in the Rocky Mountains, North America" (see).
The complete issue in great condition.
