DAILY RICHMOND EXAMINER, Virginia, March 23, 1864 A nice newspaper from the capital of the Confederacy. Among the reports are: "The New Currency" "The Charges Against Released Yankee Officers North" "The Work of Sherman's Expedition Into Mississippi--Ravages Along Its Line of March--Everything Laid In Ashes--Curious Intercepted Letter" "General Breckinridge In His New Department" "The Richmond Ambulance Corps" and more. There is also a lengthy editorial, which begins: "If there is a large & growing Peace party in the Federal States, there is in the Confederacy a much larger Peace party..." with more. And further on another topic is addressed with: "It is becoming more & more difficult (and we are glad of it) for Confederates and Yankees to understand one another's language; we grow more & more foreign and alien..." with more.
Complete as a folio size, single sheet newspaper, never bound nor trimmed & in very nice, clean condition.
