GLEASON'S PICTORIAL, Boston, July 22, 1854 The ftpg. shows: "Pauromama, or Mount of Pleasure, in Japan". Inside has a great half page print captioned: "Nauvoo, From the Mississippi, Looking Down the River." with a related article headed: "Nauvoo City", which begins: "This is the site of the celebrated Mormon city founded by Joe Smith & his followers in 1840..." with more. Rare to find a period print of this Mormon city.
This issue also has a nearly half pg. print: "Little Crow Village, on the Mississippi", & prints of "View of Jeddo, the Capital City of Japan" and four men in Japanese costumes.
Sixteen pages, some scattered light foxing, good condition.
