CHARLESTON DAILY COURIER, South Carolina, May 5, 1864  This is one of just a few newspapers from the Confederacy which printed in the dateline: "Confederate States Of America". Scott" "Burnside Crossed the Rappahannock--Grant Demands McClellan's & Fremont's Services--Refusal of Yankee Troops to Obey Orders...Rupture in Lincoln's Cabinet" "Highly Important From Louisiana" "Official Announcement of the Surrender of Plymouth" "Siege of Charleston" "Another Substitute for Ten" "Northern News & Accounts" "The Confederate Run on the Banks" "The Campaign Towards Richmond--Grant Against Lee" and more.
The back page has a few war-related items but is primarily taken up with advertisements.
Complete as a single sheet newspaper, a few minor archival mends at the margins, very nice condition.
