July 18, 1938

THE BETHLEHEM GLOBE-TIMES, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, July 18, 1938

* Douglas 'Wrong Way' Corrigan
* Famous flight to Ireland

The top of the front page has a nice 3 col. head: " 'Missing' Flier Lands Single-Motored Plane At Irish Airport Today" with subheads including: "Douglas P. Corrigan Makes Solo Flight From New York in 28 Hours, 13 Minutes" "U.S. Denied Him Permit in 1937" with more, including a photo of the plane and an inset of Corrigan (see photos).

Later tagged with the name "Wrongway Corrigan", he filed flight plans for a trip from New York to California, then headed to Ireland, a destination formally denied him by the government. He made it there anyway. A famous "stunt" from the early days of aviation.

Complete in 14 pages and is in very nice condition.
