THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, Aug. 20, 1765

* The Stamp Act beginning

Inside over 2 columns are taken up with: "A Letter from a Merchant in Philadelphia..." which begins: "The Act of Parliament imposing a Stamp duty on the American Colonies, is just published among us & occasions very great uneasiness. It is not the bearing a part in the general defence...but the being deprived of those rights, those distinguishing & invaluable rights of Britons of being governed by laws of their own making..." plus more great reading on the coming stamp act.
Eight pages, 8 1/4 by 11 1/4, with a portion of the lower right of the front leaf missing causing loss of text but not affecting any mentioned content (which is on pages 7 & 8). Otherwise good condition.
