November 07, 1846

NILES' NATIONAL REGISTER, Baltimore, Nov. 7, 1846  The front page has: "General Kearney's Expedition to Tonie" which has a dateline of Santa Fe, Sept. 13, 1846, and mentions traveling to a town called Tonie, about 100 miles away, with much of meeting with the Pueblo Indians (see). Also on the ftpg: "The Slave Case at New York" concerning the slave boy named Kirk (see). This carries over to page 2 where there is also: "The California Emigrants" which is very descriptive & mentions Fort Bridger, Lieut. Fremont, and more (see).
Further in to the issue is much reporting headed: "The War With Mexico" "Army of Occupation" "Capture of Monterey" "Siege of Monterey" and much more. Coverage of the Mexican War takes nearly 6 pages. "Also: "Gen. Kearney & the Army of the West".
Sixteen pages, 8 1/2 by 12 inches, very nice condition.
