THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, Aug. 8, 1769 A few tidbits on concerning America, including: "...respecting the recall of a certain Governor from the Western Continent...that if it be the opinion then to proceed rigorously with the Americans he will remain there; but if lenient measures be adopted, to bring about a reconciliation, then he will certainly be recalled.". Another brief item on the back page notes: "Some letters from Boston, New England, mention that a great desertion prevails among the military." (see)
