July 29, 1769

THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, July 29, 1769  Page 2 has an interesting letter from a merchant in New York which begins: "I have often given you detached sentiments respecting the non-importation of goods, & as you are so much interested in the event, you will no doubt be curious to know how such an agreement is likely to be supported in case the P[arliament] should prove obstinate..." and more. Also a letter from a person in Philadelphia makes a notable & patriotic statement: "...the whole continent from New England to Georgia seems firmly fixed: Like a strong well constructed arch, the more weight is laid on it, the firmer it stands. And thus the Americans, the more we are loaded, the more we are united." (see).
Eight pages, 8 1/4 by 11 1/4 inches, very nice, clean condition.
