Inside has a nice descriptive article on the city of Mobile, beginning: "The city of Mobile fully partakes of the prosperity of the rapidly growing & important state of Alabama...Mobile has become quite healthy...as the adjacent lands are opened & drained...Middle Alabama is principally known to us as a fine cotton growing country..." with more (see for portions).
Other articles include: "Death of E. I. Dupont of Delaware" taking half a page (see), and: "Origin Of Negro Slavery" "A New Engine of War" "Conversion of Salt Water Into Fresh" and "Treaty With Spain" which includes a document signed in type by: Andrew Jackson.
Sixteen pages, 6 by 9 1/2 inches, very nice condition.
This small size newspaper began in 1811 and was a prime source for national political news of the first half of the 19th century. As noted in Wikipedia, this title: "...(was) one of the most widely-circulated magazines in the United States...Devoted primarily to politics...considered an important source for the history of the period."
