LESLIE'S ILLUSTRATED NEWSPAPER, New York, 1857 This is a quite rare four page foldout which was offered as a gratis print with issue #65 of this newspaper. It also has a notation of being from 1857. Based on the first issue printed I would put the date of this item at March, 1857.
This is a huge print titled: "General Wayne's Assault On Stony Point" which is dramatic and filled with action. This foldout measures 23 by 32 1/2 inches and is in very nice condition, with some minor margin wear & two small archival mends on the reverse of the margins, not close to the image. It is printed on one side only.
