NILES' WEEKLY REGISTER, Baltimore, Aug. 21, 1819 Most of an inside page is taken up with a lengthy & detailed chart concerning the: "Army of the United States" giving an accounting for the various ranks, the "ordnance", as well as pay by rank, etc. (see)
Included is an 8 page "Supplement" issue which has a half page article: "Obstinate Yankees - From Noah's Travels" being the famous Mordecai Manuel Noah, the first American-born Jew to rise to prominence (see hyperlink for much more on him).
Complete in 24 pages with the Supplement, 6 by 9 3/4 inches, nice condition.

This small size newspaper began in 1811 and was a prime source for national political news of the first half of the 19th century. As noted in Wikipedia, this title: "...(was) one of the most widely-circulated magazines in the United States...Devoted primarily to politics...considered an important source for the history of the period."
