Proclamation by Jeff Davis... Near the end of the Confederacy...

Item # 599210

November 8, 1864

DAILY DISPATCH, Richmond, Virginia, Nov. 8, 1864  A nice newspaper from the capital of the Confederacy from just 6 months before the city would fall to the Yankees. The front page includes: "Latest From the North" "the War News" "From Petersburg" and reports from the: "Confederate Congress" which has a lengthy: "Message Of The President".
The back page is mostly taken up with advertisements however it does have a: "Proclamation - Appointing a Day for Public Worship" which is signed in type: Jefferson Davis (see).
Complete as a single  sheet newspaper with a full banner masthead, various brown spotting does not deter readability, otherwise very nice condition, never bound nor trimmed.
