March 02, 1874
THE CHICAGO DAILY TRIBUNE, Chicago, Illinois, March 2, 1874  On page 5 is a report under "Kentucky" "...Mrs. Hunt stated that over 500 saloons had been closed by the women in Indiana, and argued that, if the business men and churches would take an interest in the movement, much good could be accomplished... It is the aim of the temperance societies to obtain a sufficient number of votes to prohibit the sale of liquor in the city. It is probable that a movement against the saloons in New Albany will be inaugurate during the present week."
Other news and advertisements of the day are within.
This is complete in 8 pages with a slightly irregular left spine, otherwise is in good condition.
