RHODE ISLAND AMERICAN, Providence, Oct. 22, 1822 The front page has a full column headed: "The Jews" which is a nice item concerning Mr. Mordecai M. Noah and his efforts to create a colony for the Jews on Grand Island in the Niagara River, as well as him being honored by a Berlin university: "...constituting him extraordinary member & correspondent for the United States, of the Society for the advancement of science and knowledge among the Jews..." (see). It continues slightly on page 2 with the letter from Berlin (see).
