THE NEW YORK TIMES, April 8, 1872
* Ku Klux Klan - KKK
* Inside the organization
Taking more than the first column on the front page is: "THE KUKLUX KLAN" "Present Condition & Purposes of the Order" "Interesting Statements by Observers in the South" "The Kuklux Waiting for the Ascendancy of the Democrats" "Hopes of the Latter to Regain the Control of the Nation" "Oath of the Supreme Degree of this Remarkable Order" which provides much insight into this organization (see for portions). The oath begins: "I swear to forever oppose the social and political elevation of the negro to an equality with the whites..." with much more.
Eight pages, never-trimmed margins, some binding residue at the spine, generally ice.
