THE FLORIDIAN, Tallahassee, Florida, April 24, 1847  Nineteenth century newspapers from Florida are uncommon, particularly those from before the Civil War. Here is such an issue from the capital city of Florida, 14 years before the Civil War.
Content includes reports on the Mexican war including: "Later From Vera Cruz" "Memorandum" "From Tampico" "Veracruz to the Honest Men in the Enemy's Camp"  "From the Brazos" "From Mexico" and a document signed: H.L.Scott concerning the capture of Vera Cruz. Page 3 has a document: "By the President of the United States" concerning the sale of land in Florida, signed: James K. Polk.
