April 24, 1769
NEW-YORK GAZETTE & THE WEEKLY MERCURY, April 24, 1769  The front  page has an address from the New York General Assembly to the Parliament in England in which some of the growing troubles between American & England are discussed, mentioning near the end: "...Urged by such weighty & important reasons we presume...to lay before...the wisdom of Parliament...the distresses of our constituents, fully trusting that the...House will...take into their serious consideration the grievances of his Majesty's loyal subjects in America, & that the united voice of all the Colonies will prevail on his Majesty...to grant them such relief as they shall think necessary to maintain an equal participation of rights among his faithful subjects in every part of the British Empire." Complete in four pages, handsome coat-of-arms in the masthead, some minor margin tears and some chipping at the margins, archivally rejoined at the spine. There are several small archival mends to margin tears as well.
