EDINBURGH EVENING COURANT, Scotland, Sept. 24, 1777 

* Rare Revolutionary War title

One-third of the front page and over one-third of page 2 are taken up with: "On the American Rebellion - Letter 1" of which is a series which concerns: "...that unnatural rebellion which now does so much mischief in America..." and which concerns: "...two points; the Pretensions of America, and  her Complaints...The Pretensions of American, just before the Congress had hit upon that bold expedient of dethroning their lawful sovereign & of releasing his subjects with a  papistical authority from their oath of allegiance to him, were all comprised in this: Absolute independency from the British parliament..." with much more, and signed in type: The Man In The Moon (see for portions).
Page 2 has much more on the war as well including reports from Charleston and a letter from New York with some news updates (see). Page 3 begins with: "A list of the officers killed and wounded in the American war." by both name and rank (see).
Four pages, folio size, period notations in ads & margins, very nice condition.
