Page 2 has an item: "The Sea Serpent Again" has an interesting description of one off St. John near Florida, noting in part: "...It lifted its head...several times out of the water...a pair of frightful fins, or claws several feet in lengthy. His tail was not seen at any time...supposes the leviathan to be about 90 ft. in lengthy...The monster moved himself from the side of the vessel..." with more (see photos). Page 3 has a report on the Gold Rush noting: "...$160,000 in gold...The accounts received by them continue extravagant as to the abundance of gold & of the emigrants crowding in from all quarters...much scarcity of necessary supplies...advices by these ships will cause further expeditions to be projected." (see photos).
Four pages, some foxing & minor rubbing at folds, generally good.
