October 31, 1774

ARIS'S BIRMINGHAM GAZETTE, England, Oct. 31, 1774  The front page has a letter from a man on a ship off the coast of Boston, beginning: "New England holds out most obstinately notwithstanding hundreds are already ruined & thousands half-starved; some of the clergy are continually in their sermons stirring up the people to resistance..." with more, including mention that General Lee hopes to find himself at the head of the people of Boston (see).
Much of this newspaper is taken up with advertisements. Four pages, folio size, red tax stamp on the front page, nice condition.
