SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN, New York, June 7, 1919  The color cover is "Salvaged Boilers Rolled 21 Miles Along the California Coast" with the related story with the issue of how these were removed from a stranded, salvaged ship and found that this was the method of transporting them. The front page of the issue is "American 'mystery' ships and their equipment for combating U-boats, torpedoes, and mines". Other articles are: "A United States Port in France"; "Stefansson in the Arctic"; "America Flies the Atlantic - The Design and Development of the NC-4" (Navy-Curtiss Flying Boat) and additional articles and advertisements.

Please note: this issue contains 26 pages but is missing the last page. There are several small binding holes along the left spine, two small library stamps in the masthead area, otherwise in nice condition.
