THE PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, May 1, 1862

* Capture of New Orleans
* Abraham Lincoln's brother-in-laws

Among the front page one column heads on the Civil War are: "The Latest News" "The Capture of New Orleans Fully Confirmed" "Immense Destruction of Property" "The Rebel Outrages at Manassas" "Particulars of the Capture of New Orleans" "Panic & Consternation at the South" "Death of Mrs. Lincoln's Brother" (see photos) and much more. Interesting historical note: Lincoln's brother-in-law, Samuel Todd, fought for the Confederacy and died at the battle of Shiloh. Another of Mary's brothers died at Baton Rouge.
Eight pages, some light foxing, mainly along 1st column, very minor margin wear, otherwise nice.
