THE EDINBURGH EVENING COURANT, Scotland, May 17, 1775  Page 2 has reports headed: "America" one noting in part: "...that left Montreal...that upwards of 1200 of the principal inhabitants of that place...had signed a petition to his Majesty for the repeal of the Quebec bill lately passed in the London Parliament..." and another item: "...a design to form an army in Canada to join the King's regular forces in fighting against & enslaving the other British colonies, the Canadians were greatly alarmed & took the best method in their power to secure themselves from the hateful & detested service..." with more. A report from New York concerns the Indians, noting: "...I can assure you it is resolved on that the Seneca nation are to join General Gate...the Senecas are rejoiced at the  news of their expedition--being very desirous of a war of any kind--such is their delight in--blood!" (see).
Yet another report which notes in part: "...The Virginians are the most resolute in their opposition to the Parliamentary authority of this kingdom over her colonies. They have not only taxed themselves to support an army, but have even raised that army & appointed a General to command it..." with more.
Four pages, folio size, minor loss at the upper left corner, archival repair at the blank spine, generally good.
