ARIS'S BIRMINGHAM GAZETTE, England, November 14, 1774

The front page has a report headed "America" from Hartford, noting: "...a great concourse of people...appointed a committee to wait on the court...eighteen of them very willingly signed the following engagement, 'We the subscribers do severally promise & solemnly engage...that we never will take, hold, execute, or exercise any commission, office, or employment whatsoever, by virtue of any authority given by a late Act of Parliament, entitled 'An Act for the better Regulating the Government of the Province of Massachusetts Bay' " and further on is an ambiguously worded item: "...Last Friday morning one Valentine Ducket, a deserter from the 65th Regiment, now at Halifax, was shot in the rear of the camp on the Common." and other items concerning America (see).
Page 21 has an item headed: "America" and another item from the "General Congress concerning a non-importation agreement (see). Also a report that: "...inhabitants of Boston, at Fanuiel Hall, when they unanimously re-chose the Hon. John Hancock, Esq. one of their Representatives..." (see photos).
Four pages, full red tax stamp on the front page, good condition.
